இலங்கையில் உள்ள முஸ்லிம் கள் இலங்கையைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் அல்லர் , அவர்கள் சஊதி அரேபியாவிலிருந்து குடியேறியவர்கள் , அவர்களுக்கு இலங்கையில் எந்த உரிமையும் கிடையாது என்று கூறி உரிமைகள் சிறிது சிறிதாக பறிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றது. எனவே இங்கே நான் குறிப்பிடுவது சஊதி அரேபியாவிலிருந்து முஸ்லிம் ; கள் வந்தாலும் அவர்கள் சில தேவைகளையும் , நோக்கங்களையும் , இஸ்லாத்தை போதிப்பதையும் அடிப்படையாக வைத்து வந்தனர். அவ்வாறு வந்தவர்கள் தங்களது நோக்கங்களை பூர்த்தியாக்கிக்கொண்டு மீண்டும் தங்களது நாட்டுக்கு திரும்பிவிட்டனர். அப்படியானால் இலங்கையிலுள்ள முஸ்லிம்கள் எந்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்றால் அந்த அரேபியரின் இஸ்லாமியப் போதனைகளைப் பெற்று சத்திய மார்க்கமான இஸ்லாத்தை ஏற்றவர்கள். எனவே அன்று தொட்டு இன்று வரையில் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் இலங்கை முஸ்லிம்கள் இலங்கையைப் பிறப்பிடமாகக் கொண்டவர்கள் என்பதை நிரூபிக்கும் முகமாக தக்க ஆதாரங்களுடன் இக்குறிப்பை வரைய எண்ணுகிறேன். இலங்கை ஆசியாக் கண்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள ஒரு தீவாகும். அதன் எல்லைகளாக வடக்கே இந்திய உபகண்டமும் , மேற்கே ஆபிரிக்க பெரு நிலப்பரப்பும் , கிழக்கே கிழக்கிந்திய தீவ...

One of the terms used by the Qur'an during the early Makkan period to describe Islam was Al-Yusraa, or 'The Easy Way'. This is simply because Islam was, and is the natural way of life. Indeed, whatever is natural for human beings should be easy for them in every way, hence cause them to gravitate towards it easily, and consequently bring harmony, peace and tranquillity to their lives. Since the Quran is the book upon which the Islamic way of life is built, then the Quran has to be easy to understand and follow-it is 'The Easy Way'. This view that Islam is easy to understand and practice, is one which is derived from the primary sources of Islam.
